At approximately 12:57 p.m. (EST) on March 21, spring will have officially sprung here in Canada. And after the winter we've had — polar votexs, learning from Winnipeggers about how to survive the cold and Farch — we don't think we've ever been so excited to ring in the vernal equinox. There are so many things we've missed doing/seeing/hearing over the past few very cold months. In no particular order here are a few reasons we're so stoked about ringing in spring.
Changing Our Wardrobe
Who wants to join us in having a burn-your-wardrobe party? It feels like we've been wearing the same ensemble — winter boots, a down-filled jacket and gloves — forever. These items are so well-worn, many are even falling apart. It's time to update our look with a few fantastic spring finds. (Check out our trends page for some inspiration!)
We love the smell of freshly cut grass. The way it feels against bare feet. The texture it adds to our urban environments. Let field frolicking commence!
Driving With The Windows Down
There's really nothing like the sensation of the wind rustling through your hair as you drive along a country road. Of course, this only applies to the times when temperatures won't give you frostbite.
After normal winters, spring cleaning has been a thing we've undertaken with a small degree of hesitation — we've never felt the need to get rid of anything. This year, however, after spending one too many nights on the couch surrounded by blankets and takeout containers, we're overly excited about doing a big purge.
Beers On A Patio
Sitting outside and enjoying a beer will never taste or be so sweet.
Rockin' Robin, where have you been!? We can't remember the last time we heard you chirping in our backyard trees. Bring on your tunes!
It's almost impossible to walk around outside when the weather is 30 below. Now that we're coming out of hiding, we're looking forward to seeing how our city's landscape has changed over winter.
