Apparently David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar won’t be hanging out anytime soon.
During his weekly radio show, Top Rock Countdown, Sammy Hagar had some giggles over David Lee Roth’s recent quote at the Billboard Music Awards that there would be no ‘Van Hagar’ era songs on the current tour’s set list. When he was asked he said, ‘there’s a credibility issue there. Good, bad or in the middle, you know Roth means it; the other guy doesn’t. … And why would you bring that into the proceedings? This hamburger don’t need no helper.”
He wished the boys well on their tour but wondered about the ‘quality’ issue and giggled when he pictured Roth trying to sing the classic Right Now from his era with the band.
Given the mixed reviews their live shows have been getting lately, do you think Sammy has a point?
