But the evolution of classic rock was in full swing an ocean away, where legends in the making like Marc Bolan and David Bowie were embracing their feminine side, and leading the charge with what would become known as Glam Rock, as in Glamour, that would include Roxy Music and Americans too, like Lou Reed. Bowie did it best, and most overtly, showing up in Texas in ’71 for the first time, in a long flowing dress. The gender bending was one thing. The music was another”.
