CTV news is reporting that a new study from the University of Texas Medical Branch proves that doctors who listen to their favourite music in operating rooms have improved technique and efficiency in closing incisions.
The data was gathered from plastic surgery residents who operated on pigs feet on two different days. One day with music and the other without.
The study doesn’t say what happens when the doctors had to operate to a soundtrack of music they didn’t like. It would be nice to not be the case study patient when that’s happening.
