The BBC released an interview with legendary Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour today. In it Gilmour talks about using former inmates from Wadsworth prison to sing on his new release Rattle That Lock. Gilmour’s son spent four months in the prison in 2011 following an arrest at a protest in London.
The Liberty Choir joins members from the South London Choir with inmates serving time at Wadsworth for weekly sessions. They also have a program for recently released inmates. Gilmour and his wife have donated money to see the program expand to other prisons.
Rattle That Lock will be released in September.
