December 8th, 1980. Do you remember where you were when you heard the news?
It was late in the evening when John Lennon and Yoko Ono returned to their apartment in the Dakota in New York City. Lennon was approached and murdered before he could enter the building. Lennon was only 40 years old.
Fans around the world mourned his loss and continue to do so thirty-five years later. The question will always remain about what would he have accomplished further had he lived, so prolific was his career up until that time.
Newsweek Magazine this week published a detailed account of the night and the ‘what if’s’ that Lennon fans likely run through their heads when they think about that night.
