AC/DC have started offering refunds for their upcoming European shows for which they’ve hired Axl Rose to take the place of Brian Johnson. Johnson was told by doctors that he had to stop touring or else risk total hearing loss. There were mixed reactions to the news that Rose would be serving as vocalist, and so the band made the decision to offer refunds, a band representative told TeamRock. “The band made a decision to offer this,” the spokesman says. “As they care about their fans and wanted to do right by them, they instructed local promoters to offer refunds.”
A Belgian newspaper reported that 7,000 fans asked for refunds in advance of the May 16 date there. A local promoter told AC/DC’s rep that a “small number” of refunds were also given for the May 7th show in Lisbon.
