Corral Canyon Cave in California, which Doors fans have covered in graffiti in tribute to Jim Morrison and the band, has been closed for cleaning with no set date to reopen.
The graffiti has increased since a rumour emerged last year via social media that Morrison used to write music in the cave.
Lindsey Templeton, a supervising ranger with California State Parks, told the LA Times “It’s spreading. It’s really sad … we come in and we hear shaking cans.”
Pictures of the cave are posted to social media at a rate of “30 or 40 times a day” according to Craig Sap, the California State Parks district superintendent.
