Headlining the event are classic rock superstars Stevie Nicks and the Steve Miller Band as well as Eddie Vedder (sans Pearl Jam). This awesome collaboration of delicious food, amazing bourbons and rockin’ music will be taking place on September 23-24 in Louisville, Kentucky.
A press release announcing the festival called it a “celebration in honor of the soul and spirit of Kentucky”. It will feature more than 50 Kentucky bourbons chosen by prominent authority Fred Minnick, local chef Edward Lee (if you’ve seen Netflix’s Mind of a Chef you’re already familiar with him), and Iron Chef contender Chris Cosentino. Many of these bourbons will be purchasable at a 20,000 square-foot bar (WHAT!) but the rarer blends will only be available in the exclusive Hunter’s Club. Attendees to the festival will be able to explore the life of a distiller, learn about barrel-making and participate in many of the free workshops dedicated to distilling, bartending, pairing, and cooking.
But enough about the food (just kidding, there’s more), other musical guests that will be gracing the stages over the two days are: Band of Horses, Joe Bonarnassa, Gary Clark Jr., Paul Rodgers, Amos Lee, Buddy Guy, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Johnny Lang, G. Love & Special Sauce, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, ZZ Ward, Nikki Lane, Shawn James & the Shapeshifters, Fantastic Negrito, Kiefer Sutherland and Dave Cavalier. PHEW, try saying all that in one breath. There will be more artists announced as the date approaches.
More on the food front, local restaurants will be creating exclusive dishes just for the festival, championed by a variety of nationally recognized chefs – including Cosentino, Lee, Tom Colicchio, Carla Hall, Amanda Freitag, Jose Salazar, Cosmo Goss, Erling Wu-Bower, Kevin Ashworth, Anthony Lamas, Anthony Falco and many others. Man, I am salivating thinking of all that Southern BBQ. MMM!
