The sixth annual JFL42 Festival is returning to Toronto from Sept. 21 to 30, with six headliners taking the stage at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts.
This year’s festival is an eclectic mix of some of comedy’s biggest stars and new discoveries, while featuring a wide variety of styles that will be sure to leave sides aching and tears of laughter.
The lineup, officially announced Tuesday, also features familiar names coming for the standup-dominated festival’s sixth year: Saturday Night Live’s Jenny Slate and Jay Pharoah, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion’s Janeane Garofalo, The Daily Show’s Michelle Wolf, Roy Wood Jr. from the Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, Rhys Darby from Flight of the Conchords, Jen Kirkman, Liza Treyger, Rachel Feinstein, Brian Posehn, Kyle Kinane, the Lucas Brothers, Gina Yashere, Beth Sterling, Mark Normand, Ali Siddiq and Morgan Murphy.
Canadian standups will include Sara Hennessey, Sandra Battaglini, Chris Locke, Sophie Buddle, Che Durena, Chris Robinson, Eman El-Husseini and Mike Rita, as well as local sketch duo Soul Decision.
ComedyCon returns to JFL42 after a successful debut at the 2016 festival. This daytime programming series will take place from Sept. 21 to 24, and Sept. 29 to 30, and will include In Conversations with Burr, Mulaney, Tim and Eric, Segura, Slate, Posehn, and Garofalo.
It will also feature The Beaverton Live, a televised adaptation of the infamous online satirical news site.
Audiences will also be able to experience popular podcasts from Kirkman, Greg Proops and more.
This ground-breaking comedy experience created by Just For Laughs, invites its fans to choose their own adventure with a flexible pass and ticketing system that allows them to take advantage of both traditional and new ways to enjoy standup comedy.
Passes to JFL42 go on sale Friday, June 2 at 10 a.m., and tickets go on sale June 9 at 10 a.m. They are available online at jfl42.com and festival passes range from $55 to $299. Single tickets range from $32.50 to $65.50.
