Available for purchase on September 22nd, Van Morrison’s 37th studio album “Roll With The Punches” is a true and proper blues album. “From a very early age, I connected with the blues,” Morrison said in a press release. “The thing about the blues is you don’t dissect it: You just do it. I’ve never over-analyzed what I do; I just do it.”
In anticipation of the album, Van Morrison has released a video for ‘Transformation’, the second pre-release track from the set.

A slew of regular collaborators and special guests – including Jeff Beck, who appears on ‘Transformation’ above – take part in tackling a mix of covers and originals for the album. Morrison said he took a very “performance-oriented” approach to the songs. “Each song is like a story and I’m performing that story,” he added. “That’s been forgotten over years because people over-analyze things. I was a performer before I started writing songs, and I’ve always felt like that’s what I do.”
These thoughts are clearly reflected in the video for ‘Transformation’, which used footage from his July 11 concert at London’s Porchester Hall. With the new album set to release soon, Morrison is scheduled to begin a promotional tour, starting in North America in September/October.
