In the second movie, Hotel Transylvania 2, Dracula looks for proof that his grandson is a vampire and needs to remain in Transylvania.
2. Monster High: Haunted
Hearing that their old school is being haunted, Spectra Vondergeist and her pals head back to Monster High to get to the bottom of the scary spookery. This is a great 1 hour and 15 minute flick to enjoy with your kids.
3. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
This classic from 1982 is a family-friendly movie about a lonely suburban boy befriending a gentle alien. He tries to help it return home while protecting it from government forces that are in pursuit.
4. Ghostbusters (1984)
The original Ghostbusters movie is a classic! A team of scientists become “ghostbusters” to fight off the ghost population in New York City. They eventually find a portal to another dimension, and must save the city from an evil creature, Gozer.
One of my favourite movies growing up! Casper peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. When specialist James Harvey (Bill Pullman) arrives to communicate with Casper and his fellow spirits, he brings along his teenage daughter, Kat (Christina Ricci). Casper quickly falls in love with Kat.
6. The Addams Family
When a man (Christopher Lloyd) claiming to be Fester, the missing brother of Gomez Addams (Raul Julia), arrives at the Addams’ home, the family is thrilled. However, Morticia (Anjelica Huston) begins to suspect the man is a fraud, since he cannot recall details of Fester’s life.
7. The Nightmare Before Christmas
The film follows the misadventures of Jack Skellington, Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king, who has become bored with the same annual routine of frightening people in the “real world.” When Jack accidentally stumbles on Christmastown, all bright colors and warm spirits, he gets a new lease on life — he plots to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role. But Jack soon discovers even the best-laid plans of mice and skeleton men can go seriously awry.
A really fun family-friendly movie. After learning she is a witch, a girl (Kimberly J. Brown) helps save a town full of other supernatural creatures.
9. The Little Vampire
After he moves to Scotland with his parents, only child Tony (Jonathan Lipnicki) struggles to make friends at his new school. But he is bullied and picked on by the other boys, and has little hope of overcoming his miserable new life. Then he meets Rudolph (Rollo Weeks), a kid vampire with whom Tony becomes very close. But, when Rudolph’s life and the future of the vampire race are threatened by a ruthless vampire hunter, Tony must find the courage to save his best friend.
Based on the best-selling books, this is a film you don’t want to miss if you have a child that loves Goosebumps!
