Only a nine-year-old child wouldn’t be fazed by Oprah Winfrey.
Young Deric McCabe, who plays budding genius Charles Wallace in Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, wasn’t frazzled whatsoever by his co-star Winfrey’s presence on set, even though it’s his first-ever major motion picture.
McCabe took it all in stride and is one of the most memorable characters in the movie. In Wrinkle, Charles Wallace accompanies his sister, Meg (Storm Reid) across space and time to find their missing father (Chris Pine). Along the way, they encounter strange people and places, but throughout maintain their love and support of one another.
Global News sat down with McCabe in Toronto to talk about meeting Winfrey for the first time, and which one of the dazzling sets was his favourite.
‘A Wrinkle in Time’ is out in theatres across Canada on March 9.
